She and her husband, who retired from Pacific Lutheran College in Washington as a collegiate football coach, settled in the northwest Phoenix Valley. She has served on boards with deliberate and conscientious land planning causes, providing perspectives to planners and developers for appropriate use of land that would preserve the community character, and on homeowner association boards with a responsibility to review and inform the community on how the activities on the exterior affect the community within.
